The Career Education and Transition High School provides a range of educational services to eligible high school and continuing students who are deaf or hard of hearing, or blind or visually impaired.
To address the students’ needs in the academic area, the class ratio is smaller than the Deaf and Blind Departments, and Instructional Assistants are used in every classroom. The classroom teachers in the Career Education and Transition High School have additional certifications or training, and implement a modified curriculum.
The curriculum includes the Sunshine State Standards where applicable, Exceptional Student Education Course Descriptors, specially designed courses specific to student needs, and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
The High School program lays a solid foundation for a student to enter the world of work or additional schooling in order to become a productive member of society.
