Education for Life Transition Program

FSDB’s Education for Life Transition is a 4-year pilot program for students with hearing impairments, changes the way K-12 programs serving deaf and hard of hearing students prepare students for life after high school. We believe that a better-prepared student may avoid becoming a dropout statistic.

Transition means that a student is preparing himself for the next step in his life, whether to pursue post-secondary education, or to join the workforce.

Deaf youth need both training and tools to ensure they are prepared to meet the challenges of post-secondary environments – and to succeed!

The comprehensive Education for Life Transition Program provides:

  • Academic enrichment
  • Family support
  • Mentoring
  • Youth leadership opportunities
  • Work-based experiences
  • Interagency partnerships
