Student Support Services
Allied Health
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind provides services to students in the following areas:
Speech/Audiology
- Services provided to students as detailed in their IEP.
- Individual speech and language therapy.
- Group speech and language therapy.
- Comprehensive audiological services.
**Ear mold impressions.
- Assist in repair of student hearing aids and cochlear implants.
- Diagnostic testing.
Occupational/Physical Therapy
- Students are eligible to receive these services if they meet the state requirement for Certified Educational Relevant Therapy.
- Aquatic therapy.
- After-school yoga and pottery.
Mental Health/Counseling Services
- Services provided to students as detailed in their IEP.
- Individualized counseling services for educational relevant services.
- Bullying programs.
- Staff includes Social Workers, a School Psychologist, a Behavior Specialist and a Human Services Counselor.

Health Care Center
- Open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week for acute and chronic student health care needs.
- Medication treatment administration.
- Contract with the University of Florida to provide pediatric care.

Dental Services
- The University of Florida dentists and residents provide 8 monthly dental clinics.
- A dental hygenist is available for onsite preventative and emergency care 3 days a week.
Eligibility Programs
- A comprehensive evaluation staff determines eligibility.
