Effective training positively impacts our organization, while furthering the mission and strategic goals of the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB). Staff members participate in ongoing learning activities to improve and maintain skills, which strongly influence student programs and employee opportunities for career progression.
FSDB staff members are successful at meeting the goals identified in the FSDB Master Training Plan. Our Research and Training Specialists offer employees the opportunity to participate in a variety of campus training activities. These activities are determined by state and federal mandates, operational policies, employee needs assessments, climate survey results, and school/department needs. Training results are reported to the Florida Department of Management Services annually via their Training Data Questionnaire.
