New This Year!  FSDB is offering two Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Academies this summer — at no cost, with transportation and dormitory opportunities — for eligible Florida students who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired:

Expanded Core Curriculum Summer Academy – Deaf/Hard of Hearing

FSDB will host a two-week Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Summer Academy from June 10-22, 2018 on its St. Augustine campus – at no cost for eligible Florida students age 11-16 who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Academy focuses on several areas of the ECC, including leadership, self-advocacy, digital citizenship, and career education skills development. Participants will also have opportunities to enjoy a variety of recreation and leisure activities and social experiences. Academy presenters and instructors are certified teachers with several years of experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Expanded Core Curriculum Summer Academy – Blind/Visually Impaired     

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) will host a two-week Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Summer Academy from June 10-22, 2018 on its St. Augustine campus – at no cost for eligible Florida students age 11-16 who are blind or visually impaired. The Academy focuses on several areas of the ECC including assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills development.  Participants will also have opportunities to enjoy a variety of recreation and leisure activities and social experiences. Academy presenters and instructors are certified teachers as well as orientation and mobility specialists with several years of experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired.
