Student Achievement Measures

Throughout the state of Florida, the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) has been developed to provide schools a systematic way to determine student achievement. Student achievement is based upon different assessments at different grade levels. Over time, the assessment data provides teachers and administrators with a clearer understanding of student strengths and informs the parents of what their student needs to be as successful as possible.

Students at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet their unique needs. As such, students are provided allowable accommodations on the FSA (e.g. extended time, abacus, braille, etc.)

FSDB administers the following assessments:

  • FSA ELA Writing Component (Grades 4-10)
  • FSA ELA and Mathematics Assessment (Grades 3-10)
  • FSA End-of-Course Exams (EOCs)
    • Algebra 1
    • Algebra 2
    • Geometry
  • NGSSS End-of-Course Exams (EOCs)
    • Biology 1
    • Civics
    • US History
