The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) Print Shop provides high quality document and design service for departments and staff members on campus. It is a full-service source for printing and graphic design with quick turn-around and cost effective production. The Print Shop routinely provides business cards, brochures, booklets, single and multi-part forms, calendars, posters, certificates, newsletters, graphs, schedules, programs, tickets, announcements, maps and directories. Last minute requests for printing services can be completed and delivered quickly.
The Print Shop also produces hands-on work experience for students enrolled in the High School and Continuing Education programs. Student interns in the Career Development work experience program provide assistance to staff members in sorting, collating, stapling, gluing pads, punching holes, shrink wrapping, finalizing jobs and making deliveries. Students also learn basic knowledge and skills in Adobe Creative Suite applications – Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Through this work experience, students learn to apply soft skills such as time management, meeting deadlines, customer service, organizational skills and teamwork.
