Recently, Deaf Middle School 8th graders had an awesome time showcasing their science fair projects. While working on their projects prior to the Science Fair, students had to really force themselves to think outside the box – and to incorporate writing/editing skills before finalizing their project. The Science, Language Arts, and Reading classes worked together to incorporate the 10 steps/science methods(s) through writing/vocabulary/spelling. The students were given a pre-test/mid-test, and it was a success! The students’ ability to spell the words correctly increased by 80 %! Basically, it was a fun time for all – and regardless of who came in first, second, or third, the students had a lot of fun.
