Online Sign Language Courses Available
Posted: 5/19/2011 in Announcements
ASL interactive online sign language courses available are now available and are free to family members and professionals communicating and working directly with deaf children. No experience is necessary.
The next session start the week of June 20th and will continue through the beginning of August. Class availability is limited so please complete the online survey below as soon as possible.
ASL Interactive is an opportunity for families and professionals to learn American Sign Language (ASL) through an online video chat room setting. While learning vocabulary, grammar, and culture, each individual’s specific signing needs will be met through online surveys and weekly correspondence. This experience is structured as an 8 week course built around each participant and can range from beginner to intermediate levels.
This approach is a new endeavor many parents and professionals have requested to support communication with deaf/hard-of-hearing children at home and in the classroom.
While there is no cost for the course and families/professionals are encouraged to participate, we really do hope that those wishing to be involved are able to commit the necessary time and effort. We also ask for constructive input to better shape the courses for the future.
As this is an online internet course, you will need access to a newer computer (no more than 3 – 5 years old), a high-speed internet connection and a better than average web camera to participate.
The easy online survey will get you started!
