We build confidence in a student not only in the classroom, but also on the playing field.

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind has long held that a strong athletic program contributes to overall student success. FSDB offers a full range of programs:

• the latest tools for fitness evaluation.
• on-campus fitness gyms and a swimming pool.
• participation in local and regional sports events.
• a range of team sports for students in grades 6 through 12.

FSDB athletes have competed and placed in international Olympic events, and athletic teams have received coveted national championship titles as well as regional awards.

Athletic Participation Forms

The Florida High School Athletic Association requires all students participating in interscholastic athletics to have a current sports physical and parental permission on file at school before trying out for a team. Additional information regarding eligibility can be found on the permission form.

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is Florida's public boarding school for students who are sensory impaired. FSDB is fully accredited, and it is one of the programs of instruction available in the state of Florida to serve deaf, hard-of-hearing or blind students. Find out more
