FSDB Students Garner Recognition at SkillsUSA; One Selected for National Competition

Developing an appreciation for nature and a respect for the environment propels the civic-minded Oja Outdoor Club on the campus of the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind.
The club takes advantage of the salt marsh and estuary that borders the campus. Students kayak and hike in proximity to the school under the direction of science instructor Mr. Shannon Lally.
The once-yearly weekend campout allows students to explore Florida’s natural landscape, and learn practical means of protecting Florida’s fragile ecosystems.

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is Florida's public boarding school for students who are sensory impaired. FSDB is fully accredited, and it is one of the programs of instruction available in the state of Florida to serve deaf, hard-of-hearing or blind students. Find out more
