Learning to use leisure time wisely is a theme for recreation at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. Two recreation managers and several assistants guide students through a variety of activities promoting a well-rounded healthy lifestyle. Activities include: arts and crafts, dance program, board games, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, basketball, Little League baseball, swimming, exercise/fitness center, and more. The program operates in the afternoons and evenings.

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association and follows all regulations mandated by this organization. Competition is against schools for the deaf, schools for the blind, and regular public schools. Athletic activities include: football, cross country, volleyball, goalball, swimming, basketball, wrestling, soccer, tennis, and track.

Monthly recreation schedules are available for parents to download, sign and return.
